A great environment...

Thanks to the quality of its environment , our gîte has been labelled "Gîte Panda", by WWF , the first world-wide organisation for the protection of nature.

Here, you will have many opportunities to observe wildlife and vegetation.
Forty-nine bird-species have been registered and roe deers and hinds can often be seen.

Something for everyone's enjoyment :

o follow the "wine trail" and visit the picturesque Alsatian villages
o hike in the mountain (from the gîte)
o visit "le musée du Pays Welches" or "le musée de la Forges" in Fréland
o visit a silver mine in Ste Marie aux Mines
o discover the nature reserve of Le Gazon Du Faing, on the summits (" la route des crêtes")
o spend an afternoon watching and talking with a cow-breeder
or a beekeeper before a copious "goûter" (snack) on the farm
o visit the famous castle of Haut- Koenigsbourg
o spend a day at the Eco-musée
o stroke Myrtille the she-ass and Silène, her Daughter
o go swimming in Kaysersberg (swimming-pool at 8 km)
o play golf in Ammerschwir (16 km)
o go fishing for trout in Fréland
o have a little chat with Mamyvonne on the way to the neighbouring farm to get cheese or milk.
o visit famous cities and their museums : Colmar, Sélestat, Strasbourg, Mulhouse, Bâle( Switzerland)
and Fribourg (Germany)
o without forgetting the well-known "marchés de Noël" - Christmas markets
o ski ( slopes at 15 km) and snowshoes ("raquettes") in winter
